About Queen Elizabeth Park
Queen Elizabeth Park sits brightly on the spectacular Coolangatta shoreline, providing an excellent base for your sun-filled day at this gorgeous beach and retail precinct that includes the popular shopping and dining centre, The Strand.
A wide path travels through the park, which is perfect for a scenic stroll or bike ride north to Kirra Beach and beyond. Of course, you can walk along the beach if you prefer, and there is a boardwalk as well if you are looking for something more novel.
The kids will love Queen Elizabeth Park too. The modern boat-themed playground offers plenty of climbing opportunities as well as a slide and other engaging features.
There are five picnic tables at the park, including a pair sitting under a spacious tiled roof - perfect for large gatherings such as birthday parties and even weddings. There are several barbecues as well as a drinking fountain, an outdoor shower, and a smattering of park benches. Public toilets are available, including a toilet for people with disabilities.
Queen Elizabeth Park hosts the Coolangatta Art and Craft Markets on the second Sunday of every month from 8am to 2pm.
Dogs are welcome on a leash, though not in the playground.
