About Pizzey Park
Pizzey Park is a massive sports and recreation park on the Gold Coast with world-class facilities including:
- An awesome 4800 square metre skate park suitable for skateboards, cycles, scooters and skates and featuring a street-style extension that has been designed to Olympic standards.
- Miami Aquatic Centre - one of the Gold Coast's best aquatic centres with two 50-metre pools, an indoor pool and a splash park.
- Miami Tennis Club - Queensland's largest tennis centre, with 14 synthetic grass courts.
- A mind-boggling array of sports surfaces including rugby league fields, soccer fields, netball courts, basketball courts, cricket pitches, athletics tracks and softball fields.
- Plenty of space and tracks to walk, run and cycle.
- Four children's playgrounds.
- Picnic facilities in pleasant settings including four covered and six shaded picnic tables, a barbecue, and a water station.
- A boat ramp.
- Off-leash dog areas, dog agility equipment and a lake where dogs can swim.
- Two public restrooms, one of which is accessible for people with disabilities.
With all these facilities, it is no surprise that Pizzey Park is home to over 25 sporting clubs including the Burleigh Bears rugby league club.
In an exciting development, the Gold Coast City Council has announced that the Gold Coast's first asphalt pump track is being built at Pizzey Park and will feature over 2000 metres of undulating track which will enable skilled skaters and riders to maintain momentum indefinitely while travelling around the track.
As you can see from the photos below, if you are looking to get active, Pizzey Park is one of Australia's best facilities.
