About Kleinschmidt Family Sports Park
Kleinschmidt Family Sports Park is set in one of the most peaceful locations on the Gold Coast. Far from the M1, this park houses a cluster of sports fields and a large off-leash dog exercise area. A path runs around the perimeter of the park, in a large figure eight that is perfect for a good-length walk or a short bike ride.
Rivermill Terrace overlooks the sports fields, with parking provided one one side of the street that directly overlooks the fields, so on the weekend you can sit in your car air-conditioned comfort while watching some amateur cricket in summer or perhaps some football in the cooler months.
The park can certainly get hot in summer, but there are opportunities for shade. Along Rivermill Terrace, there are four excellent sheltered picnic tables, built with chunky rustic timber, and with two modern barbecue facilities provided, so you won't regret stopping for a meal here.
There is a playground for the kids that includes two slides, a seesaw, and swings - all against the backdrop of the trees and fields.
The park also offers six park benches and water fountains. Public restrooms are available, including one accessible toilet for people with disabilities.
