About Picnic Parkland at Hinze Dam
This picturesque bush setting offers an idyllic choice for a family day outdoors and is an exceptional option for hosting large gatherings. Take a leisurely stroll along the expansive dam, indulge in the breathtaking views from the delightful café, or explore the vast network of mountain bike and multi-use trails. Engage in activities such as sailing and fishing (permit required, catch and release only), and discover a world of possibilities waiting to be explored. The opening hours of the Hinze Dam Day Use Area are as follows:
- 5:30am to 6:30pm (September – April)
- 6:00am to 5:30pm (May – August)
Picnic Parkland has nine picnic tables, four of which are sheltered. There are also four barbecues, water on tap and public restrooms, including one for people with disabilities.
One of Picnic Parkland's highlights is a spacious shaded playground with exciting features such as rock climbing walls, tunnels, a rope swing, slide and a bridge.
Dogs are permitted on a leash, but not in the playground areas.
