About the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens
This beautiful coastal display boasts a picturesque lakeside boardwalk amidst lush gardens, as well as a myriad of amenities. It's a great place to host small and large gatherings outdoors, with plenty of space and lots to do.
The park is teeming with diverse fauna, including birds, insects and reptiles. Occasional sculptures adorn the surroundings, adding to the charm. The Gardens are a popular place to host weddings and there is a coffee shop.
Keep an eye out too for scheduled events at the Gardens on the Gold Coast City Council's Events Calendar, such as guided walks for bird watching, learning about native bees, and Garden Glider (accessible vehicle) tours for seniors.
The Gardens have many picnic tables, with many of them located in scenic spots, often under shelter or beneath the shade of large mature trees. Some barbecues are available too, and there is a mid-sized playground that will please the kids. There are accessible restrooms and plenty of parking.
Near the playground, there are open fields which are perfect for a picnic rug and ball games, at least at the right time of year - the ground can get a bit too soft after wet weather.
Dogs are welcome on a leash but are not permitted in all areas of the park, so keep your eye on the signs if you bring your furry friend along. Nearby you will find the Cabana Off-Leash Dog Area where you can take your dog for a walk, swim or digging frenzy in the sand.
