About Birtwistle Park

Birtwistle Park in Southport is a cute local park endowed with a smattering of beautiful mature trees.

The park has a well-equipped playground, complete with swings, a flying fox, monkey bars, a slide, and climbing equipment, all on a sandy base. A frame has been installed for a shade cover over the playground, though one was not present on the day Ellie visited this park so you won't see one in the photos below.

Visitors to Birtwistle Park can enjoy a meal at one of three picnic tables, or relax on the park benches, but there are no barbecues nor any public restrooms.

Across the road from Birtwistle Park is Dillaway Family Park, a perfect spot for gatherings and social events.
